<p>This application serves as a complimentary educational tool, aiming to aid individuals in the identification and comprehension of fossil species from various geological eras in the United States, including the Neogene, Pennsylvanian, Ordovician, and Cretaceous periods. It is designed to accompany the Digital Atlas of Ancient Life website accessible at <a href="https://www.digitalatlasofancientlife.org">https://www.digitalatlasofancientlife.org</a>. The development of this app was made possible through grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF EF-1206757, EF-1206769, EF-1206750, DBI-1602067, DBI-1645520) awarded to leading researchers Dr. Bruce S. Lieberman (University of Kansas), Dr. Alycia Stigall (Ohio University), and Dr. Jonathan Hendricks (Paleontological Research Institution).</p>
<p>This initiative is part of a broader natural history specimen digitization endeavor supported by the National Resource for Advancing the Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (ADBC) known as Integrated Digitized Biocollections or iDigBio.
